Driven by strong values and a mission to strengthen the economy, Sandra Vazquez, MBA has excelled in the financial services industry since 1997 and currently serves as the senior vice president and compliance officer at JonesTrading Institutional Services LLC in Florida, where she has been since 2020. She was previously active as the director and head of client onboarding at Cowen Inc. from 2018 to 2020 and senior compliance officer-turned-vice president at Two Sigma Securities LLC between 2014 and 2018. For more than a decade, she established herself in the finance field at KCG Holdings, Inc. in New Jersey—first as a compliance analyst from 2000 to 2004 before advancing to the roles of associate and senior compliance specialist from 2004 to 2005; assistant vice president of compliance from 2005 to 2006; vice president of compliance from 2006 to 2012; and director of compliance from 2012 to 2014. Ms. Vazquez launched her career as a compliance analyst for Lewco Securities Corp. in 1997.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Ms. Vazquez relocated to the northeast of the United States when she was a child; she earned a Bachelor of Science in business management from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey in 1997 and subsequently continued her education by attaining a Master of Business Administration in human resource management in the University of Phoenix in 2003. She is also equipped with Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) licenses and has passed the FINRA Securities Industry Essentials exam. In addition to her primary responsibilities within her career, she has lent her expertise and insight to numerous venues and groups, serving as a panelist on “The Convergence of Crypto & Compliance” for StarCompliance, participating in Financial Information Forum Working Groups, the Toastmasters, and a mentoring program. She became involved as a mentor and a mentee because she believed the learning process and the ability to leverage one another to grow personally and professionally is essential. She also joined Two Sigma to help promote mentoring and motivation among working women.

Looking ahead to the future, Ms. Vazquez strives to continue growing and learning from others, as well as helping others grow and learn. She additionally wants to remain knowledgeable about changing technologies and market structures. She is passionate about helping the economy move along.
